I got a new phone this week and don’t have access to my old pictures from last week, so I’ll start chronicling my baking adventures from this week forward.
Meet my new breadmaker. It has a dedicated gluten free cycle! So far, I’ve tried a loaf made from scratch using Namaste flour as well as a Bob’s Red Mill mix Both were decent, but the from scratch loaf below was slightly better. I’m looking forward to more attempts in the near future.
A GF friend suggested I try Aldi for GF products. I found a baking mix that made decent pancakes! I added a teaspoon of vanilla and a pinch of kosher salt, and we topped them with maple syrup from my brother’s wedding. I struggle with making decent pancakes even with regular recipes, so I was very pleased at how these turned out.
Last but not least, I made Brazilian cheese bread tonight using America’s Test Kitchen’s recipe from the How Can It Be Gluten Free? Cookbook. I thought they were good, but hubs LOVED them and ate half the batch!
